69D Directory posted: 02 01 10

Back after a long break while a) we dealt with other work and b) worked out the format, the new 69D Directory is back in a new and improved format.

Firstly we have paired down the information as we believe that duplicating information already on the client website (and often out of date) only removes the focus from the clients personal website. We therefore decided to provide basic information while making it easy to visit the website for further and fuller information where required.

Secondly we have now opened it up to all escorts with their own website rather than restricting it to only 69Design clients. Featured spots are available, on a monthly basis and each entry will be key worded (when we finish it, it is a long job) to maximise search engine visibility.

So, welcome back to the Directory, may it be useful and a valuable source for all its users be they clients, escorts, agencies or parlours.

New CMS posted: 16 11 09

We recently launched our new and upgraded Content Management System (CMS) for Agencies and Parlours, with a new site for London Agency Agency Touch of Class. I have to say the feedback has been very good, and new enquiries have increased substantially.

We currently have three more agencies in development, plus one launched today Glamour Girls of Surrey, all powered with our new system. So, keep an eye out for the new sites and a detailed post on the features of our new CMS.

Photographers posted: 22 09 09

We thought it good to post our philosophy when choosing who to display on our photography section. Previously we showcased the accepted London escort photographers providing them with a high profile high traffic source of new referrals. This was fine but we began to believe that for escorts seeking a change from the usual and often expensive and inflexible terms made possible by an effectively closed market lead us to believe that clients deserved a wider choice than the industry was offering.

Over the past year we have forged relationships with new photographers with varying styles, and in diverse locations, providing clients with choice both in style of photos produced and in cost. Earlier this year we were lucky enough to bring into our portfolio John Dietrich one of the most respected fetish photographers in the UK, having shot a number of high profile clients including Dita Von Teese.

We have now also added Martin Levenson to our portfolio, a talented and very reasonably priced photographer based in North East (city) London. As always we continue to strive to bring new ideas and vision to our industry and to offer clients a choice.

Does Google or not? posted: 21 09 09

Well when it comes to keywords metatag the answer currently is no… taken from the google blog.

“Recently we received some questions about how Google uses (or more accurately, doesn’t use) the “keywords” meta tag in ranking web search results. Suppose you have two website owners, Alice and Bob. Alice runs a company called AliceCo and Bob runs BobCo. One day while looking at Bob’s site, Alice notices that Bob has copied some of the words that she uses in her “keywords” meta tag. Even more interesting, Bob has added the words “AliceCo” to his “keywords” meta tag. Should Alice be concerned?

At least for Google’s web search results currently (September 2009), the answer is no. Google doesn’t use the “keywords” meta tag in our web search ranking.”

We have also now started a SEO tips section here. Part one.

New Services posted: 17 08 09

We are pleased to announce two new services today.. a new professional Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) product and a service for those out there let down by their existing web master.

Our new professional SEO service is designed to provide a level of linking, tracking and analysis in search engine marketing way beyond the usual google analytics.

A complete software suite of professional tools allow us to analyse, your existing site, plan optimisation strategies, compare competitors and high ranking sites link strategies, and then create powerful link directories on your site designed to provide links carefully crafted to increase your sites ranking. This is an ongoing service, achieving lasting results through proven strategies rather than quick unsustainable fixes.

Normally offered by SEO companies for large upfront fees we prefer to let clients pay as they go and let the results speak for themselves.

Note: I recently heard SEO companies described as “the snake oil salesmen of the web.” Much rubbish has been written and many impossible promises made, we intend to open our service, post SEO tips and tricks here and generally try to demystify the process as much as possible.

Secondly much requested and now available 69Design is offering Webmaster Services for those who for whatever reason had their sites designed elsewhere and have been let down or deserted by the existing designer or webmaster.

We will manage your site, change text and pictures and handle banner exchanges, all for a fixed fee, and we offer a free SEO report to start of new webmaster clients on the right road to better site management.

So if these services sound of interest please have a look at their relevant pages Webmaster Services and professional SEO Services

Going all corporate posted: 16 08 09

Well the title says most of it but of course we will not be loosing the personal element of our business at all.

Over the past few months more and more escort enquiries have been coming from Europe, the USA and beyond (we are just applying the finishing touches to an escort agency in Thailand). While this is a very welcome development it has highlighted some areas where we felt we could improve and open up our service, so this we have now hopefully done.

For all new design commissions we have now set up a secure collaborative project management area. Clients, as well as us of course, can now see exactly the process and expected dates for each stage of their design. The system logs all correspondence, allows for on-line revisions of the site text, keeps project notes and allows clients to upload images and documents as well as sending mail each time revisions or items requiring attention are posted.

This we believe will not only streamline our design process, but enable clients to be more involved and informed in the design process at all stages.

More corporate, yes, more professional, yes, less accessible, definitely not. We take great pride in our relationship with our clients and will not allow this to change. We consistently aim to improve not only our designs, but also our range of services and the the infrastructure needed to deliver them efficiently.

As the escort market becomes more and more saturated and the available clients cut back in recessionary times 69Design continues to strive to provide clients with every advantage in a difficult market.

A step up posted: 01 08 09

Back to Flash, where appropriate.. Having had a love of Flash technology for years, Mandy and I decided that with the advent and the slow mainstream acceptance of Actionscript 3 (the latest programming language for Flash known as AS3) I would take a while, assess its benefits, learn it and mainly stay away from full flash sites until I (Richard) had got my head round the many differences in the language.

Anyway techno waffle over, the net result is we now have our second AS3 site on line and the most complex one to date in terms of scripting, http://www.lady-isobella.com and the feedback so far has been overwhelmingly positive. It is also the second to utilise the layout with large image areas and the menu as a bottom bar, see also http://www.dina-london.com although this one is created in HTML and uses AJAX for the effects. Two solutions creating the same basic idea.

Every so often we reach a milestone in our designs where the go up a notch, the sites for both Isobella and Dina both designed as a collaboration between Mandy and I, are I believe such a point in different technologies and we very pleased with both.
